The Kirklees Bridleways Group was founded in 1988 by local members of The British Horse Society.
In 2000, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act was introduced. Section 53 of the Act provides for a “cut-off date” in 2026, which means many historic routes of use to horse riders, cyclists and walkers will be extinguished if they are not formally recorded accurately as bridleways or footpaths on the Definitive Map.
Our aim is to safeguard all historic routes by getting them recorded for public use therefore ensuring that they are safe for future generations. Join us if you share our aim of protecting and improving our bridleways network.www.kirkleesbridlewaysgroup.co.uk & Facebook
